Terms of Use
1. Provider
The provider of the website and the Android app ZUHD is Mubashir Ahmed, c/o flexdienst – #21642, Kurt-Schumacher-Straße 74, 67663 Kaiserslautern, Germany (Sole proprietor trading as ZUHD). General contact and legal correspondence: [email protected]. App support, account, and Premium questions: [email protected]. The contract for a Google Play purchase remains separate and is additionally governed by the contracting party identified there and the conditions shown at purchase.
2. Scope of services and technical requirements
ZUHD supports focus, digital self-control, local app blocking, website/category protection, focus sessions, Side Quests, progress, XP, levels, and badges. Where enabled for the applicable age band, optional friends, private text conversations, and a shared moderated Community room are also available. Protection features work according to the current state of the respective platform and cannot guarantee a fully tamper-proof block. Use requires a supported Android device, an internet connection for account-based features, and a ZUHD account. Some local protection features require separate Android permissions. Premium purchases and restoration require Google Play and an eligible Google Play account. Google Play may refuse installation under a device-integrity rule configured in Google Play; Google Play performs the assessment and enforcement.
3. ZUHD usage contract, account, and login
Express acceptance of these Terms together with successful creation of a ZUHD account is intended to form an indefinite ZUHD usage contract between the user and the provider identified in section 1. Whether and with whom it is validly formed is governed by applicable law, particularly for minors. It covers the free account, Trial, and Free, as well as account-based Social, Community, and support features where made available and enabled for the applicable age band. Consumers may withdraw from this free contract within 14 days from conclusion without giving a reason; mandatory statutory rules on the period and its start remain unaffected. The highlighted electronic withdrawal function, further declaration routes, and the model withdrawal form are available on the linked Withdrawal and Consumer Information page. A Premium entitlement purchased through Google Play unlocks additional features within this usage contract; acquisition, payment, withdrawal, and subscription management for the Google Play purchase remain governed by the separate contract with the contracting party identified there. Independently of withdrawal, the user may terminate the ZUHD usage contract at any time without notice by completing account deletion; account-based ZUHD services then end. Either party's right to terminate for serious cause remains unaffected. Credentials must be kept confidential. If you suspect misuse, contact support and change your password.
3a. Technical steps, correction, contract text, and languages
Before a registration is submitted, the app displays the account details to be entered, a separate acceptance of these Terms, and links to the governing documents. For email registration, the user can review and correct the email address, username, date of birth, and password until selecting “Create account”; the button remains disabled where information is recognisably incomplete or invalid or acceptance is missing. The age screen is neutral: before entry it identifies neither unlock thresholds nor which input would unlock a feature. For the Google route, Google is opened through “Continue with Google” after the separate acceptance and may create a ZUHD account on first use. If the securely identified account already has a current age declaration, no date-of-birth field appears. Otherwise, the one-time age declaration follows only after the secure callback, while the session remains unpersisted locally until that declaration succeeds. Registration can be abandoned before submission by going back. The contract languages are German and English; English is used as the document language where another app language is selected. The documents linked before conclusion can be displayed, saved, or printed in the browser. ZUHD records acceptance together with the immutable version, document language, time, method, and document checksums; passwords are not stored in that record. ZUHD has not subscribed to a special external code of conduct; the separate ZUHD Community Guidelines remain applicable to the optional Community features.
3b. Minimum age, age declaration, and minors
The product minimum age for an individual ZUHD account is 13. Below age 13, usable account access is not enabled. ZUHD uses the age bands under 13, 13–17, and 18 or over to control technical access. You declare your date of birth yourself for this purpose. ZUHD currently does not compare it with an identity document, official register, or your Google Account; it is self-reported information, not official proof of age, identity, legal adulthood, or contractual capacity. ZUHD currently has no process for obtaining or verifying consent from a legal representative and collects neither a country nor a parent contact for the global safety fallback. Minors may enter into the ZUHD usage contract and use their account only if they can do so validly under the law applicable to them or any required consent from their legal representative has been obtained. A higher minimum age, required proof, or additional safeguard under applicable law remains unaffected. Agreement to the contract and the age declaration do not replace separate consent required for optional data processing or legally required parental authorisation. Existing accounts without a valid age status must complete the declaration; if the prompt is cancelled, access and advertising remain unavailable, the app signs out locally, and attempts to revoke the remote session.
3c. Age-dependent feature access
Where the age status is missing or stale, product access and advertising remain unavailable. Below age 13, no usable account is enabled. From age 13 to 17, the age-eligible core of the app is available, including Trial, Free, and Premium. The existing account-bound, content-free core progress is synchronized and restored: XP and level, idempotent content-free XP receipts, achievements and badges, the numeric attribute matrix, rank and title state, unlocked or equipped title ID, banner, frame and aura, seen reward IDs, and aggregate statistics required for progression. Task text or quest titles, schedules, Side Quest state, and local protection, URL, or app-usage histories are not synchronized. Friends through exact-username search or invitation and the existing Hardcore/trusted-person feature remain available under their applicable safety rules. Private messages, Community, full public profile projections, upload or ordinary retrieval of server-side profile media, and optional Side Quest/task cloud backup remain unavailable. A profile image or GIF selected in the app stays local. In Free, this age band may receive only a child-safe, non-personalized banner on Home; App Open ads remain disabled. From age 18, regular features are available under the applicable product, safety, consent, and Community rules. Premium does not change an age threshold or override a restriction. Existing private messages, Community content, full public profile projections, profile media, or optional task-cloud data is not automatically deleted because an account is under 18, but it is not supplied through ordinary user paths before the server-authoritative 18+ date. Reaching that date can make the account eligible without another date-of-birth entry; it does not automatically upload, republish, or enable an optional cloud feature. Purpose-bound moderation, deletion, and statutory retention paths remain unaffected.
4. Trial, Free, and Premium
No paid ZUHD subscription can currently be purchased through this website. New test accounts receive a free trial of 3 days with access to every feature eligible for their age status and no ads. No payment method is required, no payment is triggered, and the trial does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. Without an active purchase, access changes to Free when the trial ends. Free currently includes Home and a limited Focus area with no more than three focus profiles and no more than three concurrently active focus time windows; Protection and Progress remain available only during Trial and Premium. Ads may appear in Free only on the surfaces identified in the Privacy Policy. If Premium is offered through Google Play, a paid subscription starts only after deliberate confirmation in Google Play checkout. Immediately before purchase, checkout shows the current price, billing period, automatic renewal, and essential features. The specific offer displayed there governs the purchase. For purchases through Google Play in the European Economic Area, the content is offered by Google Commerce Limited under the Google Play terms; a separate contract with Google Commerce Limited is formed when the content is downloaded, used, or purchased. ZUHD remains the provider responsible for the app content and the contact for app functionality and support. These Terms govern use of ZUHD and its Community features. The checkout, purchase confirmation, and applicable Google Play terms additionally govern the price, taxes, payment, renewal, cancellation, withdrawal, and refund for the specific Google Play purchase.
5. Renewal, cancellation, withdrawal, and restoration
If a Premium subscription is purchased through Google Play, the renewal and billing conditions displayed immediately before purchase apply. Automatic renewal can be stopped in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions; cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for. Completing ZUHD account deletion terminates the ZUHD usage contract, but it does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Signing out or uninstalling the app also does not cancel that subscription; it must be cancelled separately in Google Play. Cancellation, statutory withdrawal, and a remedy for a defect are separate processes. For a Google Play purchase, a statutory withdrawal must be declared directly to Google Commerce Limited, for example through Google Play's official withdrawal form or another contact route identified in the current Google Play Terms. ZUHD support can additionally help with technical app and entitlement questions but does not replace the declaration to the contracting party. An entitlement supplied by Google Play for the same Google Play account and capable of technical verification can be checked again through the app's restore function; ZUHD cannot restore an entitlement that Google Play does not supply as valid. Statutory withdrawal, defect, and refund rights remain unaffected.
6. Permitted use
ZUHD may only be used lawfully and for personal use. In particular, attacks on the services, bypassing access controls, automated mass requests, abuse of support forms, and actions that violate third-party rights are prohibited.
7. Social features and acceptance of rules
Where enabled under section 3c and made available, friends, private text conversations, public profile projections, and the shared moderated Community room are voluntary account-based features. Before making a first public post, users must expressly accept the current ZUHD Community Guidelines in the app. A new version must be accepted again before making another public post. Reading remains available without current acceptance where age-dependent access exists.
7a. Pseudonymous outward use
ZUHD does not require a clear name for outward-facing use of Social and Community features. Other users see the chosen @username, a neutral server-derived avatar by default, and only profile values deliberately shared by the user. Only from age 18 may the user deliberately replace the neutral avatar on the full profile with a profile image or GIF and separately choose its recipient group. An email address remains internally necessary for authentication, account security, and account recovery; it is not displayed to other users as profile information. Sign-in with Google may process basic profile data supplied internally but does not automatically change this pseudonymous outward view. The ZUHD account is therefore not anonymous in relation to ZUHD.
7b. Profile image or GIF
The Photo Picker is initially used only to select an image or GIF locally in the app. That local selection is never uploaded automatically. From age 18, the user may send a technically prepared copy to ZUHD through a separate deliberate action. Every new upload starts with “Only me” visibility. The user may then choose “Only me”, “Friends”, or “Community” independently from other profile values. “Friends” means confirmed ZUHD friends. “Community” means only signed-in ZUHD users who are age- and rule-eligible for that feature; it does not create an anonymously accessible public web profile. Profile media is displayed only on the full profile. Friend overviews, private text conversations, and Community posts remain free of image or GIF attachments. ZUHD may reject technically unsuitable files and may review, restrict, or remove reported or otherwise specifically flagged profile media under section 10. The user may replace or remove the server-side profile medium at any time; this does not affect the local original file on the device. Reaching age 18 triggers neither an automatic upload nor automatic publication; upload and each visibility choice remain deliberate actions.
8. Rights in user content
Users retain their rights in content they submit and may provide only content for which they hold the necessary rights. For as long as the content is made available, the user grants ZUHD a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission limited to operating the selected feature: to technically store and transmit the content, display it to its intended recipients, secure it, and moderate it under these Terms. This permission does not cover use for advertising, data trading, or training general-purpose AI models. It ends when the content is deleted, except to the extent that an unavoidable technical backup rotation or a specific legal retention duty applies.
9. Prohibited user content and behaviour
Prohibited content and behaviour include child sexual abuse or exploitation and child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion, sexual exploitation, harassment, stalking, threats, hate or violence, encouragement of self-harm or dangerous behaviour, fraud, impersonation, spam, automated mass posting, harmful links, unauthorised publication of private information, illegal content, and deliberately misleading content that may place people at concrete risk or facilitate fraud. The current Community Guidelines provide further detail.
9a. Terrorist content
ZUHD prohibits dissemination of terrorist content within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2021/784. This includes, in particular, content that incites the commission of or contribution to terrorist offences, glorifies such offences in a manner that creates a danger, solicits participation in the activities of a terrorist group, provides specific instruction for committing terrorist offences, or threatens their commission. Material for educational, journalistic, artistic, research, or counter-terrorism purposes, and polemical or controversial views in public debate, are not covered merely for that reason; purpose, meaning, context, and potential danger are decisive. Where ZUHD provides a public hosting service within the scope of the Regulation, enforceable authority removal orders are handled as quickly as possible and no later than one hour after receipt, in accordance with the statutory requirements. Measures are applied diligently, proportionately, and without discrimination, with due regard for freedom of expression and information. There is no general duty to pre-monitor content; automated tools do not determine such a classification without appropriate human oversight. Unless statutory confidentiality prevents it, the affected user is informed of the removal, its reason, and the means of redress actually available.
10. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
Where Social and Community features are made available, public posts, private messages, and profiles including a visible profile image or GIF can be reported in the app, and users can block or mute others. A dedicated electronic mechanism is intended for notices of allegedly illegal content. It may be described as available only after submission, acknowledgement, case access, decision communication, and decision-bound review have passed end-to-end release gates. A notice must contain a sufficiently precise explanation, the exact electronic location of the content, and a declaration that the information is accurate and complete in good faith. The mechanism must permit submission without identification. For a notice containing every element listed in DSA Article 16(2), a name and email address are ordinarily among the listed elements; they are statutorily omitted for notices concerning offences referred to in Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU. Outside that exception, lack of identity must not technically block submission, and identity may be required for substantive assessment only where it is necessary to determine the alleged illegality. Where that mechanism has been released and electronic contact details are available, ZUHD acknowledges receipt after successful technical submission and, after taking a decision, informs the notifier without undue delay of that decision and the means of redress actually available in the individual case. Automated systems enforce technical rate limits and provide reduced spam or abuse signals; they do not decide on removal, warnings, or restrictions by themselves. ZUHD does not continuously monitor or pre-screen every item of content in real time. ZUHD may remove content or profile media, issue warnings, impose temporary posting restrictions, or permanently remove Community access. A Community restriction does not automatically disable the entire ZUHD account. ZUHD does not edit user content. In applying these rules, ZUHD acts diligently, objectively, and proportionately and takes due account of the rights and legitimate interests of everyone involved, including freedom of expression. Unless a statutory exception applies, an affected user receives, no later than when a restriction takes effect, a clear and specific statement of reasons stating the type, scope, territorial effect, and duration of the measure, the material facts, the legal or contractual basis, whether the measure resulted from a notice or ZUHD's own initiative, any use of automated means, and the means of redress actually available in the individual case. A formal review route may be identified only if it is technically bound to the specific decision and accessible; a general support request is not a formal remedy. Statutory out-of-court and judicial remedies remain unaffected.
11. Private text conversations
Private text conversations are available only from age 18, after acceptance of the current messaging-safety rules, and between confirmed friends. They remain limited to text and the expressly provided limited reactions; image, GIF, and other file attachments are not part of this feature. Their content and related circumstances are treated as confidential; ZUHD does not promise end-to-end encryption. They are not provided to administrators as a live feed. Following a specific report, only the reported message and a tightly limited amount of immediate context may be provided for moderation, to the extent that this access is legally permitted and necessary in the individual case. Private messages and that private report context must expire server-side no later than 30 days after creation, must no longer be delivered after that point, and must then be physically removed by the designated cleanup process. Public release of this feature requires technical proof that the cleanup process and the legally permitted, access-restricted handling of reports operate as intended.
12. Child safety
ZUHD prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) without exception. After obtaining actual knowledge, ZUHD removes such content and takes necessary and proportionate action against the accounts or Community access involved. Information is disclosed to an authority or another body only where a specific legal duty, authority order, or other legal basis applies and jurisdiction has been checked. Suspected violations can be reported in the app or to [email protected]; where a child is in immediate danger, contact the locally responsible emergency or law-enforcement authority directly.
13. Platform limits and requested safety actions
Android, browsers, Google Play, and device manufacturers can impose technical restrictions, battery optimizations, and permission models. Google Play may prevent installation on a device that does not satisfy the device-integrity rule configured there. Google Play performs and enforces that Store assessment; it neither guarantees detection of every risk nor tamper-proof operation after installation. The in-app Play Integrity API check currently prepared for the closed test observes only the technical binding and freshness of an authenticated request. Missing, negative, or unfamiliar optional security signals currently determine neither account access, plan, nor feature access. ZUHD honestly describes these limits and promises no unbreakable protection against every form of tampering or uninstallation. ZUHD provides no general remote-control access and cannot freely read the device, its content, or local activity histories. Two separate command channels exist, each limited to predefined ZUHD settings. After renewed multifactor verification, only an administrator may create an account-bound support-unblock action for one specified target type and value; it may, but is not technically required to, be linked to a support ticket or a particular installation and does not inherit the assurances of the emergency route described next. The separate remote emergency-shutdown route is ticketless. It requires the acting administrator to confirm expressly that the affected user requested shutdown and may be initiated only by an active owner-administrator who has re-authenticated at AAL2, for one exact target account, using an authorised reason code, an audit reason, and the required confirmation phrase. The server binds the command, which is valid for 15 minutes, to the account's latest active app installation; it is specifically not bound to a support ticket or originating installation. Both channels are auditable and allow the app only to retrieve and locally execute a predefined ZUHD command; neither provides access to device content or histories.
14. Privacy
Details on the processing of personal data are in the privacy policy. Sensitive protection, VPN, domain, focus profile, and app usage data stay on your device and are never transferred to ZUHD as a personal history.
15. Statutory defect rights and updates
Statutory conformity rights apply to digital services supplied by ZUHD under the ZUHD usage contract. During the legally relevant supply period, ZUHD provides the updates, including security updates, required to maintain conformity and informs users of their availability. The consequences of failing to install an update are governed by § 327f BGB. These terms do not restrict statutory claims against the respective responsible contracting party, including claims arising from a separate Google Play purchase.
16. Availability and changes
Uninterrupted availability at all times is not guaranteed; statutory defect and update duties remain unaffected. Beyond updates required to maintain conformity, ZUHD may change digital services supplied on a continuing basis under the ZUHD usage contract only for a valid reason identified in these terms: to close a specific security vulnerability or address a specific risk of abuse, to comply with mandatory law, an authority, or binding Google Play/Android platform requirements, or to preserve necessary technical compatibility and maintainability after changes to supported operating systems or third-party interfaces. A change is made without additional cost and communicated clearly and comprehensibly. If it adversely affects access or usability more than insignificantly, ZUHD gives reasonable advance notice on a durable medium of its features, timing, and the user's rights. An affected user may then terminate free of charge within 30 days after receiving the notice or after the change, whichever is later. This does not apply if the adverse effect is only insignificant or unchanged conforming use remains available without additional cost. § 327r BGB otherwise applies.
17. Changes to these Terms
Material changes to these Terms are communicated clearly and intelligibly before they take effect and are provided as a new dated version. Where a change to an existing contract requires consent, it takes effect only after express consent; silence or mere continued use does not constitute consent. Earlier versions and completed events are not reinterpreted retroactively.
18. Liability
ZUHD is a tool for self-control and does not replace medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Statutory rules apply for intent and gross negligence. Otherwise, liability follows the applicable statutory provisions.
19. Applicable law and consumer dispute resolution
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory protections of the country of their habitual residence and statutory venues remain unaffected. ZUHD is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Statutory complaint and redress routes remain unaffected.
