Delete account and data

In one process, you can initiate deletion of your ZUHD account, account-bound operational online data, and all data stored by the ZUHD app in its app storage on the device you are currently using. Account-independent procedural records, external mailbox copies, technical backups, and legally required records follow the separate rules described below.

1. Directly in the app

Open the ZUHD app and go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account & Cloud. After you confirm, ZUHD first deletes your account and its online data. Only after the server confirms successful completion does the app remove all data it stored in ZUHD app storage on this device.

2. If you can no longer open the app

If you no longer have access to the app, write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete account” and the email address of your account. This email directly requests deletion of your ZUHD account and its related data; reinstalling the app is not required. We verify that the account belongs to you before carrying out the deletion.

3. Delete selected data and keep the account

Under Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete data on this device, you can delete local rules, protection and focus data, tasks, settings, diagnostic data, and cache files stored by ZUHD on that device without deleting your account. Your account, sign-in, and online data remain in place. If you disable the optional Side Quest backup under Privacy & Data → Consents, previously backed-up Side Quests are removed from the ZUHD cloud while your local task list remains. You can separately remove a deliberately uploaded profile image or GIF from the ZUHD server in your profile without deleting the account; the local original file on your device remains. If you cannot use the app or want to request deletion of another specifically identified data category without deleting the account, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete selected data”. State the account email address and the data category, but do not send a password. This email constitutes the deletion request; ZUHD then verifies account ownership, the permissible scope, and any statutory exceptions.

What gets deleted

  • Your Auth account and all renewable sign-in sessions/refresh tokens. Short-lived access tokens that have already been issued may technically remain valid until they expire, but the account and its account data have been deleted.
  • Your trial, Premium status, and backed-up progress, including levels, XP, badges, and attributes
  • All Side Quests you chose to back up, partner/Hardcore data, and account-bound operational support history, subject to the strictly limited exceptions described below
  • Your account-bound Social data: profile projection, deliberately shared profile values, and an uploaded profile image or GIF including the required media metadata; friend requests and relationships, blocks, and mutes; private messages and conversations; your Community posts, replies, and reactions; direct account-bound links in reports, moderation and restriction data, and accepted Community-rules versions; as well as push registrations used for Social and partner notifications and related delivery state. Profile media is removed from active delivery and the object is deleted immediately or through the designated cleanup process. Where a moderation or security record concerning another person's case must remain, the direct technical account identifier is removed under the deletion contract. Names, email addresses, or other attributable details in free text are not thereby proven to be removed automatically; they must be assessed in a separate case-specific erasure process and redacted or erased without a continuing legal basis.
  • All data stored by the app in ZUHD app storage on this device, including focus profiles, rules, screen-time aggregates, local tasks, settings, diagnostic reports, and cache files

Other devices and Google Play

ZUHD cannot remotely wipe other phones or tablets. Remove local data on another device there using "Delete local data" or by uninstalling the app. Files you exported to Downloads or another location, or shared with another app, are outside ZUHD app storage and must be deleted there by you. An active Google Play subscription does not end when you delete the account or app and must be cancelled separately in Google Play.

Account deletion and withdrawal are separate

Confirmed account deletion terminates the free ZUHD usage contract for the future. It does not replace a separate statutory withdrawal declaration; conversely, a withdrawal declaration does not automatically erase the account and its related data. The declaration routes and effects are set out under Withdrawal and Consumer Information.

Strictly limited exceptions

Only where ZUHD is actually under a legal obligation are required accounting records kept separately from the deleted user account; the statutory period for accounting vouchers is currently generally eight years. A documented legal hold may restrict deletion of only the necessary data for a specific legal dispute, authority order, or comparable genuine legal basis. It is reviewed regularly and released when its purpose ends. Neither exception justifies retaining your profile, progress, or support history as a precaution.

Support and security data

Support and technical security data is retained only for as long as necessary to handle the request, prevent specific abuse, or meet a legal obligation. Account-related operational support data is removed from the active ZUHD system when account deletion succeeds unless a specifically documented legal hold applies. Formal DSA notices submitted independently of an account do not automatically form part of the app account and are not automatically deleted with it. Personal links are assessed in a separate erasure process; statutory retention, redress, and legal-defence grounds may prevent immediate erasure. Data-protection rights concerning that notice data may be exercised separately. Deleting the database record also does not automatically remove a copy already transmitted to the support mailbox. That copy requires a separate, documented deletion process; technical backups then lapse through the email provider's regular rotation.

Backups

Account data is removed from the active database after deletion has been confirmed. Data previously included in technical backups may remain until the regular rotation ends; individual records cannot be selectively changed inside an existing backup. Backups are used only for restoration. After a restore, previously deleted accounts are deleted again or blocked before the service is made available.
